Trip #3 Congaree NP, Stone Mountain GA, Helen GA and Waterfalls

    Time to pickup where we left off and headed on the road again.l  This time we stopped at Congaree National Park in SC.  Weather was up in the air but we were able to complete the boardwalk trail.  The bugs were not bad at all but I would think a trip in June may leave the blood bank dry.  It was an interesting place. Night at Mercer Winery    We stayed the night at a winery in Lexington SC called Mercer House Estate Winery.  Shannon owns the place and is a character.  This guys make wines from Muscadine grapes that end up dry to sweet and anything in between.  He also enjoys experimenting by make wines from odd things like Wisteria and apple pie.  We tried 13 different wines in a tasting that Shannon told stories on each one.  He is a bit of a history buff now.  Nice stop and would do it again. Trip # 2 Shenandoah and Charlotteville

   Needed to visit our youngest daughter in Charlottesville VA to take care of some title work.  Spent a comfortable night at the KOA. Kim and Alex joined us for dinner at the campsite and smores over a fire.    The next day we headed to a Harvest Host "Pro Re Nata Brewery" in Crozet, VA.  I had a flight and a fantastic prime rib sandwich for dinner.   I thought it would be noisy but ended up being a peaceful night parked on a large gravel lot in back of the brewery.    Next we headed to the mountains and landed at Big Meadow campground in Shenandoah National Park.  We hiked the Lewis springs trail to Lewis falls and then back to the campground.  There wasn't much green up here and we found out why.  The second night would drop down to 21 deg. and that means frozen pipes.  We retreated to warmer elevations and had planned to head to Stone Mountain state park in  NC but this cold wave chased us ba...
