Time to pickup where we left off and headed on the road again.l This time we stopped at Congaree National Park in SC. Weather was up in the air but we were able to complete the boardwalk trail. The bugs were not bad at all but I would think a trip in June may leave the blood bank dry. It was an interesting place.

Night at Mercer Winery |
We stayed the night at a winery in Lexington SC called Mercer House Estate Winery. Shannon owns the place and is a character. This guys make wines from Muscadine grapes that end up dry to sweet and anything in between. He also enjoys experimenting by make wines from odd things like Wisteria and apple pie. We tried 13 different wines in a tasting that Shannon told stories on each one. He is a bit of a history buff now. Nice stop and would do it again.

View from campsite at Stone Mtn. Ga |
Next day on the Stone Mountain park just outside Atlanta. Weather was not looking good with 100% chance of rain and possible hail. We arrived on a Sunday and planned to meet daughter Bethany (she's a travel nurse in Atlanta) for a quick breakfast and then the mountain top via cable car. The weather held and allowed us to take in the mountain top, historic square and then poured as we sat and listened to the clarion bells. The bells were at the 1964 Worlds fair and was donated by the Coca Cola company.
Next stop The Cottage vineyard and winery in Cleveland Ga for a one night stop. Wow there are a few hills here. Beautiful Winery but my truck didn't have enough gumption to get up the hill to setup on top so we setup on a concrete apron a little lower.
